Using CORDEX to enhance the climate services offer : PROCLIM

Recent years have been marked by a growing concern for climate change. In particular there is a need for reliable climate projections, serving future adaptation policies for public and private stakeholders. Indeed, climate data users are facing several barriers, amongst which the access, and reliability of data (e.g., uncertainty management, error margins, management of extreme events) but also the adaptation of climate projections to their needs. This paper aims at presenting the existing range of climate services, and a newcomer, Proclim. This service aims at making more accessible high resolution climate projection, derived from the Cordex datasets (Cordex is a World Climate Research Program initiative). A pilot study conducted for UNDP illustrates its implementation.
